For the first time become a house party?
I thought of wearing a sweater, jeans and brown boots, a Hogmanay party tonight, but I'm not sure. I 't really have a decent shirt, but I have a few nice jumpers though. I wanted to take my cell phone, some guiness and 10 €. Any tips? Thank you!
Wear your sweaters and boots, because if you go to the streets at midnight will be cold. Good idea to take money because you may need to come home, but taxis are very busy at this time of year and double fare for free. Take advantage of getting your favorite drink like Guinness, but not to drunk. Have a happy New Year.
How safe is skydiving?
The United States Parachute Association (USPA) estimate that over 2,000,000 jumps made here annually in the United States. Sounds like a lot, but only less than 1% of the population has ever been the thrill of free fall.
We do not believe in the danger of a life free environment (or we would all live in a bubble). Each and every day when we will wake up and leave our house, we are risks! Drive our cars, bicycles, or just walk from a city street, there are risks of the unknown, which can escape our control. We minimize these risks through drive slower, wear our seat belts, driving safer cars, and not talk or text message on our phones when we drive (lol). The real question here is: "How safe is skydiving?
Each year in the last 10 years there are about 20-30 deaths (2,000,000) that occur during parachuting here in the United States. If we calculate that there is actually less than 0015% (less than 1/1000th of 1%) actually Dying in the sport of skydiving. Skydiving is actually one of the safest "extreme sports" that people participate in. Every year there are more than 40,000 people in road accidents, 3000 which is in the fishing accidents, 800 in cycling, 80 people die from lightning (these statistics do not include the number of participants). The bottom line here is that there is risk in everything we participate in us, in our day to day lives.
How safe is skydiving Equipment?
A parachutist's equipment consists of three main components, and automatic parachute is usually a reserve Activation device (see below). Put together a main and a reserve parachute packed into a specialized backpack with a chest strap and leg straps, jumper firmly closed hold.
Skydiving equipment has advanced in recent years. Round parachutes are rare in these days and have been by modern, rectangular "Ram-air canopies, which offer greater control and direction softer landings replaced. Reserve parachutes are usually on the back of the main Parachute will be worn, as are the older front-mount assembly and to parachute fabric now no longer tenable. Parachute canopies are usually made of zero-porosity nylon fabric, which lasts for thousands of jumps.

The Automatic Activation Device (AAD)
An important innovation was the security "AAD" or automatic activation device – May be automatically activated, a jumper's reserve parachute in case the jumper is disabled or disoriented, or otherwise lost altitude. AADs have been for years, but until the early 1990s, they were notoriously inaccurate as it is overly broad scope for the height error.
In 1990, a German inventor named Helmut Cloth led a much-improved AAD as "CYPRES" known or Cybernetic Parachute Release System.
Cloth's computerized AAD (about the size of a pack of cigarettes) revolutionized the AAD, and turned what was once a bulky and students only device in a compact, very reliable, readily available (for $ 1,200) rescue device for all skydivers of all experience levels.
During the free fall and canopy descent used, the computer interprets CYPRES barometric measurement constantly assess to one Skydiver height and settling velocity. When a skydiver is decreasing faster than a certain speed over a predetermined height () 750 meters above ground, the device will immediately activate the parachute Rescue equipment.
How safe is skydiving summary?
To be honest here: Skydiving is not lawn bowling, or underwater basket weaving, but it is not Russian roulette! With today's technology and training techniques, skydiving is as safe as any other Pastime. Made of the 30 deaths in 2,000,00 jumps every year, 90% of which were experienced by Springer, the poor judgment calls or their own Limits exceeded. Not for the first time tandems and students!
